RFID Tag Samples Received for Railway Industry Testing
smart-TEC (Germany), specializing in automatic identification solutions for railway transport, has provided samples of their RFID tags for joint testing and evaluation of applicability in Ukrainian railway infrastructure conditions.
📦 Received Samples
All samples comply with international standards EPCglobal Gen2 and ISO/IEC 18000-6c:
RFID tags for wheelsets, resistant to harsh operating conditions
High-durability markers for rail bases with individual marking capability
Tags for railway switch point marking
Smart tags supporting both UHF (long-range reading) and NFC (mobile devices)
The tags are equipped with protection against unauthorized modification of the identification code (EPC) and a permanent deactivation function (kill), which is critical for transport security.

🔬 Joint Testing with Vostok Company
Joint testing of the provided samples with the Ukrainian company Vostok (vostok.dp.ua) is scheduled to begin in the near future.
Testing Objectives:
- Verification of reading range and stability for tags on rolling stock wheelsets in motion (speeds up to 120 km/h)
- Assessment of data integrity and physical durability after 12 months of operation in Ukrainian climate conditions
- Integration with existing asset management and rolling stock diagnostic systems
- Verification of NFC interface functionality for mobile inventory management by technical personnel
Test results will be used to evaluate the applicability of smart-TEC solutions for Ukrainian railway infrastructure facilities.
